Abstract

This paper will examine the debate on relations between non-governmental organizations and governmental institutions connected with foreign policy, highlighting models of cooperation in both the East and West and the European Union. The case study will focus on Third Sector diplomacy in Poland: its history, mechanisms, and prospects for success. The author utilized contacts with key players in both sectors to gain an understanding of the expectations of each side. Qualitative analysis of interviews and questionnaire responses, as well as correspondence and reports from forums and conferences, provided the basis for conclusions, recommendations, and suggested areas of future study.
