Creative Resource Acquisition
Abstract
Creative problem solving, especially in situations where resources are scarce, will be a part of many (if not all) of S.I.T. graduates' lives. Regardless of location, whether it is in the resource starved rural areas of the Sudan, or under the budgetary pinch of an institute of higher education in California, the ability to solve creatively solve problems will be vital. As a group we determined that one of the highest forms of problem solving is the acquisition of resources. We expanded the idea of "resource acquisition" to encompass the acts of resource (re)identification, resource creation, and creative resource allocation. This training focuses on helping participants to 1.)be better able to think creatively about finding or re-identifying resources, 2.) (re)defining problems, and 3.) examine their personal creative blocks in hopes of overcoming them and unleashing their creative potential.
