Abstract
La Ley para legalizar el aborto en la Argentina fue sancionada en diciembre de 2020. Esta expansión de los derechos reproductivos fue un resultado de años de lucha y debate entre dos activismos opuestos, un movimiento a favor y otro en contra de la legalización del aborto. Este proyecto es una investigación exploratoria de las estrategias usadas por los dos activismos, cómo han cambiado antes y después de la legalización del aborto, y cuáles son los próximos pasos cada uno de estos grupos. Analizando cinco entrevistas con militantes de los activismos pro-aborto y anti-aborto, complementado con una investigación bibliográfica en profundidad de la historia del movimiento, este trabajo reveló dos ejes de debate. Las estrategias de comunicación y distribución de información han sido desarrolladas críticamente y bien definidas en el mundo post-aprobación de la Ley, y el espacio virtual provisto por Internet ha creado una oportunidad para compartir sus respectivas perspectivas. Además, las nuevas agendas que implementan los activismos incluyen la inclusión de los hombres cisgénero en el espacio activista, y la internacionalización de sus movimientos.
The law legalizing abortion in Argentina was approved in December of 2020. This expansion of reproductive rights was the result of years of fighting and debate between two opposite activisms, the pro- versus anti- abortion movements. This project is an exploratory investigation of the strategies each activism used, how those strategies have changed before and after the legalization of abortion, and what are the next steps for both groups. Analyzing five interviews with activists from both pro- and anti- abortion movements, complimented with in-depth literature research of the history of the movement, this project revealed two primary axes within the debate. Communication strategies and the distribution of information have been critically developed and well-defined in a post-legalization world, and the virtual space provided by the Internet has created an opportunity to share their respective perspective. In additions, the new agendas implemented by each activisms include the inclusion of cisgender men in their activist space, and the internationalization of their movements.
