Abstract
Cross cultural experiences challenge an individual on many levels. In addition to learning about one's ability to function in an unknown environment, the individual gains an understanding of the host culture. By using various theoretical and analytical frameworks, this paper examines a volunteer experience in Malaysia through cultural, gender, religious, and multicultural management perspective. Finally, using the Malaysian experience as a reference point, the analysis creates a framework for women volunteering overseas.
