Abstract
Introduction (excerpt): Since becoming the Study Abroad/Exchange Advisor at Central Washington University's Office of International Studies and Programs (OISP) in the fall of 1994, I have counseled hundreds of students about numerous overseas program opportunities. I currently coordinate fourteen bi-laterals exchanges to nine different countries, and forty three types of study abroad programs to over forty countries. Our most popular programs are, by far, study abroad programs, because they are short term, intensive (especially in the case of language-oriented programs), and they do not require the student to do very much in terms of coordination and preparation.
