Abstract
Culture shock as a topic of study has been researched since the 1950s; however, the topic of reentry, returning to the sojourner's home culture, has not been sufficiently researched.
My Practicum experience as an Education Coordinator for Cast A '95-'96 of Up with People led me to the topic of reentry. Up with People (UWP) is an international educational program in which students from around the world travel throughout numerous countries and perform a two-hour musical show. The average visit to a town is three days and students participate in community service projects in each town.
All students have completed at least high school education or the equivalent in their country and are chosen to travel based on their leadership skills. Up with People has five casts consisting of approximately 150 people each.
