Abstract
“Diversity” has become an increasingly discussed subject in the United States as the numbers continually grow in minority populations. With the growth of minority populations, many organizations are trying to incorporate “diversity” more and more into their companies and programs. In this research paper, the author explores the existence, the definition, and the use of “diversity” in major organizations. Using the non-profit organization City Year as a case study, the author explores the potential importance of “diversity” in specifically youth oriented organizations.
