Abstract
Administrators in International Education are increasingly interested in learning about students who study abroad to find out about their personal heritage. Evidence is growing that some students seek out certain study abroad programs as a way of investigating their personal heritage. While some programs attract heritage-seeking students, other programs attract relatively few. What do many heritage-seeking students discover when they study abroad? This paper will focus on the role heritage-seeking plays in the context of study abroad by looking at my personal interest and the interest demonstrated by students and administrators of International Education.
