Abstract
Thousands of churches around the world particularly in the U.S. send out short-term service teams to serve in developing countries. A great deal of money and people power is being extended on these short–term trips. But are these trips the source of more trouble than good?
This paper analyzes the causes of this explosion in church based short-term trips as well as suggests a best practices framework for faith based short-term projects based on the literature review.
This paper then uses the Best Practices Framework to assess and evaluate a local church’s short-term project approach through interviews with the local churches leadership.
