Abstract
This capstone looks at how to empower the youth of Rhode Island to become the next generation of effective leaders to address all the issues facing the tiny state. Educating and empowering youth to become leaders for social change to create a more just and equitable society by starting small in the classroom, moving to the community level, then state level, national, and even the international level. Our young people are growing up in a society of inequality and injustice, this capstone looks at how the young people in Rhode Island have already been starting to make a change on the local level and what more can be done to support and empower them to become leaders for social change. Through education, youth organizing, and fostering adult-youth relationships, our youth will rise to the challenge of creating a more equal society.
