The politics of World Learning’s programs
Start Date

Description
Personal transformation is one intended outcome of exchange and educational activities, but these activities - whether government funded or entirely private - also have a broader political dimension. World Learning’s exchange programs are sometimes described as exercises of public diplomacy or citizen diplomacy, and we refer to exchange students as representatives of their country. More broadly, we consider our organizational mission to include creating a more peaceful and just world. The session will provide an opportunity to clarify these terms and concepts and discuss how our programs address our own political goals and those of our clients, participants, and funders.
