Conflict Transformation: Reflections on Experiences in International Peacebuilding by CT Faculty

SIT Graduate Institute Conflict Transformation professors Paula Green, Tatsushi Arai, and John Ungerleider will each present reflections from their recent work as practitioners in the field. Paula will focus on her annual CONTACT Program on campus as well as the new CONTACT South Asia program in Kathmandu attended by people from Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. Tats will reflect on his work in the Middle East and East and South Asia and tie his discoveries to his recent research projects that seek to generate new theories of peace and conflict. John will discuss recent youth peacebuilding and leadership programs for young people from Iraq, Cyprus, Denmark, and Serbia. This session is intended to invite diverse members of the SIT/WL community to an exploratory conversation as to how to expand conflict awareness in the respective societies and organizational settings in which we work.
