Abstract
This investigation analyzes short stories relating to the theme of the terrorism committed by the Argentinian civic-military dictatorship that took place from 1976-1983. Through a selection of 8 stories from different decades during and following the dictatorship (1976-2019) and a wide array of both male and female authors, I examine the ways in which this genre of literature demonstrates the historical, social and political contexts of the time of each story’s publication. I also incorporate views of experts in this literature theme taken from personal interviews to further examine post-dictatorship literature’s current role in preserving memory, advancing human rights and informing the discourse about the subject.
