Abstract

Este proyecto investiga el lugar de la asexualidad en la Educación Sexual Integral en el nivel medio en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. Desde una mirada basada en la teoría queer, este trabajo analiza los lineamientos curriculares del nivel medio y entrevistas a personas involucradas en la ESI, y concluye que la asexualidad, como todas las identidades queer, no aparece en los lineamientos y aparece muy poco en la ESI en general. Además, cuando aparecen las identidades queer en la ESI, se presentan dentro del marco de la tolerancia y no discriminación, y por el modo de hacerlo, terminan reforzando la norma cis, hetero, y alosexual. La ausencia de la asexualidad en el currículum y la asociación de la diversidad con no discriminación perpetúa la sexualnormatividad, o la idea de que sentir atracción sexual y tener interés en relaciones sexuales es una necesidad fundamental en el ser humano. Sin embargo, siguiendo a autores que retoman la teoría queer y la aplican en el ámbito educativo, yo planteo que la consideración positiva de la asexualidad en la ESI podría colaborar a desmantelar las normas dominantes de la sexualidad y ser liberadora para todes.

This project investigates the place of asexuality in Comprehensive Sexual Education in the secondary level in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. From an outlook based in queer theory, this work analyzes the curricular guidelines of the secondary level and interviews with people involved in ESI, and concludes that asexuality does not appear in the guidelines and very infrequently in ESI in general. In addition, when queer identities do appear in ESI, they are presented within a framework of tolerance and no discrimination, and because of this presentation, they end up reinforcing the cis, hetero, alosexual norm. The absence of asexuality in the curriculum and the association of diversity with no discrimination perpetuates sexual normativity, or the idea that experiencing sexual attraction and having interest in sexual relations is fundamental to being human. However, following the authors that reconsider queer theory and apply it in an educational environment, I suggest that the positive consideration of asexuality in ESI could collaborate in dismantling the dominant norms of sexuality and be liberating for everyone.
