Abstract
This training is designed to raise awareness of issues pertaining to refugee women resettling in the United States. Our audience consists of health care providers, social workers, and educators, all of whom are working with refugees in various capacities and at various stages in the refugee resettlement process. Our aim is to provide the participants with an overview of the universal challenges effecting refugee women, and then specific challenges faced by these women who have resettled in the United States. In addition, our goal is to focus these service providers on the issue of empowerment, as a tool for overcoming some of the challenges inherent in providing services for these women.
