The CSP, or Community Service Project, is written by students from the undergraduate programs of SIT Study Abroad and relates to a program theme. Students are paired with a local community organization, local entrepreneur, small business, nonprofit, or nongovernmental organizations. During the community service project period students work closely with a project advisor and other key contacts in the field which enables students to expand language immersion and community involvement while working in a reciprocity project in the community. The culmination of the CSP is typically a 8- to 12-page paper and an oral presentation, both in the target language.
