Abstract

This non-traditional ISP project seeks to recreate a three-song mini EP based on the problematic environment of the Chilean educational system and its negative influences on students. The songs aim to ask for social changes and increase awareness by criticizing the problems and at the same time serve as a way to educate young people of the new generation about the realities of the current educational system. Using information from previous school observations, inspirations from the music of different musicians and most importantly the narratives of interviews, these three songs took shape in three main themes: a call for help and change, a personal narration and the power of music. Each of these songs is of a different genre that is popular with young people today: acoustic pop, electronic indie / pop and hip-hop.
