Abstract

Esta monografía trata de la migración juvenil desde la zona de Íntag en el noroccidente del Ecuador[1]. Documenta las razones por que los jóvenes deciden salir a las ciudades, además de cuáles son las razones principales por las que deciden venir, regresar y quedarse en la Zona. Analiza las expectativas y los resultados con referencia a la teoría de la dependencia y la nueva ruralidad.

This monograph deals with juvenile migration from the Intag area in northwestern Ecuador [1]. Document the reasons why young people decide to go to the cities, in addition to what are the main reasons why they decide to come, return and stay in the Zone. Analyze the expectations and the results with reference to the theory of dependence and the new rurality.

[1] La Zona de Íntag es una región grande compuesta de 7 parroquias y más que 90 comunidades. Queda en la provincia de Imbabura, y es definida principalmente por el Río Íntag. Vea el mapa en el apéndice.

[1] The Íntag Zone is a large region composed of 7 parishes and more than 90 communities. It remains in the province of Imbabura, and is defined mainly by the Íntag River. See the map in the appendix.
