Abstract
The intent of our training was to provide a conflict management workshop for business people going overseas on assignment. Because there are different norms and behaviors in every culture, there is bound to be conflict. Through our training, our intent was for participants to explore the implications of conflict in cross-cultural business environments, and to practice using tools for implementation in conflict situations. The implications of conflict were explored through the use of simulations, theoretical cultural background information, presentation of tools/guidelines to use in conflict situations, and case studies/role plays.
