Abstract
This training is designed to address the issue of the power of language and its impact on our behaviors and attitudes surrounding the issue of disability. The intent of the training is to assist participants in beginning to shift their perceptions about disabilities and the language that we use in defining and addressing disability. The training is intended to challenge participants to share their experiences and feelings about disabilities and introduce them to appropriate language to use when talking about disability. Through this training, participants will explore the way labels and labeling has impacted their own self-image, as well as their perceptions of others.
