Journal of Critical Global Issues
Aims & Scope
The Journal of Critical Global Issues is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published annually by School for International Training (SIT). The journal aims to serve as a forum of scholarship that engages with critical global issues from diverse and pluriversal perspectives. The Journal of Critical Global Issues aspires to support respectful communities, foster intercultural understanding, advocate for social justice and inclusion, promote sustainability, and carve a space for voices from the global south. The journal currently publishes articles in English and Spanish. Its multilingual nature responds and contributes to the epistemological importance of research on critical global issues from diverse geographic and linguistic contexts.
The journal takes a multidisciplinary approach and accepts original research and commentary that addresses human societies and life on Earth during an era of change. We are especially interested in work that focuses on the following areas: climate and the environment; development and inequality; education and social change; geopolitics and power; global health and well-being; identity and human resilience; and peace and justice. Contributions draw on social and political sciences, environmental sciences, development, health, education, creative arts, and the related humanities.
Our Editorial Board includes faculty from across global regions and disciplines who represent a range of perspectives. Our Advisory Board ensures ethical processes and a wide variety of appropriate peer reviewers for submissions. We are committed to the open dissemination of knowledge and thus archive our journal through the BePress platform.
